The terms and conditions governing your use of CitizenWealth digital wallets, savings clubs, and remittance services.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the CitizenWealth platform, website, or any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must provide accurate identification for KYC verification
  • You must not be a resident of a sanctioned jurisdiction
  • You must not have been previously suspended or removed from the platform

Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. CitizenWealth is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to protect your credentials.

Services

CitizenWealth provides:

  • Digital Wallets: Multi-currency accounts supporting USD, GBP, and EUR
  • Savings Clubs: Community-based group saving in stable currencies with rotating or goal-based payouts
  • Remittance: Cross-border money transfers to 40+ countries
  • Currency Conversion: Foreign exchange at near mid-market rates with deposit fees from 0.85% (Pro) on major corridors

Fees & Pricing

Our fee schedule is published on the platform. Deposits are 0.85–0.90% and withdrawals are 0.60–0.65% depending on plan. African corridor fees via Yellowcard vary by country and method. Fees are deducted from the transfer amount and may be updated with 30 days' notice.

Savings Club Rules

  • Club administrators set contribution amounts, schedules, and payout rules
  • Members are bound by the rules of the club they join
  • CitizenWealth facilitates savings clubs but does not guarantee member contributions
  • Disputes between club members should first be resolved within the club

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use CitizenWealth for:

  • Money laundering, terrorist financing, or any illegal activity
  • Circumventing sanctions, embargoes, or export controls
  • Fraud, impersonation, or misrepresentation
  • Interfering with the security or integrity of the platform

Regulatory Compliance

CitizenWealth operates under applicable financial services regulations. We are required to perform identity verification (KYC), monitor transactions (AML), and report suspicious activity to relevant authorities.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CitizenWealth shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, outstanding balances will be returned after completing applicable compliance checks.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the Western Cape.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms with 30 days' notice via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
